Immigration Law Update – Israel, January 5, 2025

    Dear All,

Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with health, happiness, and success!

We would like to bring to your attention two important updates:

    1. Updated Government Fees for 2025

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has published updated government fees for 2025. Please note the new rates below:

    • Permit fee: 1,390 ₪ (previously 1,340 ₪)
    • Annual visa fee + License visa fee: 11,260 ₪ (previously 10,680 ₪)
    • Multiple-entry visa fee: 200 ₪ (previously 195 ₪)

These fees are effective immediately for all relevant applications.

    2. ETA Clarifications for Foreign Nationals

Following additional clarifications from the Visa Department, here is the updated guidance regarding the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA):

    • B-2 status holders (tourist visa holders): Required to complete the ETA.
    • B-1 status holders (work visa holders): Not required to complete the ETA.
    • Foreign experts entering with B-2 status under the expedited 90-day process (SEA): Must complete the ETA and subsequently regularize their status upon entry.

Note: The ETA is specifically required for foreign visitors entering Israel on a B-2 tourist visa, regardless of whether their country of origin is exempt from tourist visa requirements.

    important note:

    • The digital authorization must be requested at least 72 hours prior to arrival in Israel. It is valid for two years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
    • The ETA IL requires a non-refundable fee of 25 NIS, payable by credit card.
    • You can access the form here: https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il/eligibilityNational/
